Water the son of Simon Hoyt was born 9 June 1616 in Upway, Dorsetshire, England. He died late in 1698 or early in 1699. In 1684, making an oath as witness to the will of John Hoyt of Rye, he stated his age as about 65. His will was probabed 11 Feb 1695/6 and proved 11 April 1699. In his will he he stated his age as about 78. He married Elizabeth St. John and then married Rhoda, widow of John Taylor.
