An administration was granted 4 April 1732 to Gideon Hurlbut and John Blackman. His widow Jemima was appointed guardian to the daughter Jemima and Abigail 2 Jan 1732/3. Mary chose Ephraim Jackson for her guardian. Ephraim Jackson was appointed for Sarah Blackman. Adam chose Captain Samuel Couch for his guardian 4 April 1732. On 24 Jan 1736 Samuel Couch desired to be discharged and he chose John Blackman. On 20 August 1737, Adam refued to appear and the court appointed Ephraim Jackson as his guardian. Peter Blackman, a minor of Fairfield, about 20 refused to choose a guardian, and so the court appointed Nathaniel Whitehead on the 5 March 1744/5. NOTE: Gershom Blackman would have been legal age at the time of his fathers death.
