!MARRIAGE: History and Genealogy of the Families of Stratford, Connecticut. LDS branch library in Logan, Cache, Utah. U.S. Conn; Stratford; D3s; Vol 1-3; p. 1210. Francis Hall and Elizabeth came to America about 1654 from Kent, England. In 1659 he purchased land in Stratford, Fairfield, Connecticut. Francis had a wife named Elizabeth who owned land in Kent, England. At Elizabeth's death the proceeds of the land in England was supposed to be given to Elizabeth's children. In 1687, Isaac entered a caveat, to prohibit his father from selling his property in Fairfield, claiming it under a written agreement, for the children of his mother. This made a family division, never reconciled, as appears by the father's will. COMMENT: Were they from Kent or Warwick, England?

!MARRIAGE: The IGI shows Henry Gregory's wife as having the surname Goody. I doubt this is correct since only an about date is shown. In England its very common to say "Goody Gregory" was buried on such and such day. It is not refering to her surname but it is a term for showing respect and status of the individual. The first name of Marie is very common in the 1560-1600's while Sarah is not. Her burial might clear up her first name. | Marie or Sarah
